Atri – A Sustainable Oasis
Atri invites you to experience the harmonious coexistence of architecture, nature, and sustainable living. Atri stands as a testament to our dedication to constructing sustainable, off-grid, and energy-efficient dwellings.
Atri is a two-story building topped with a rooftop terrace on the third floor, harmoniously blending with its natural surroundings. The first floor houses the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom. The second floor includes an office and a large room that can be divided into two smaller bedrooms. The third floor features a rooftop terrace with 360-degree panoramic views of the forest and the close-by lake.
The greenhouse façade and roof, made of glass and integrated with photovoltaic cells, ensure efficient energy generation, making the home self-sufficient and environmentally friendly. Inside the greenhouse, the house boasts wooden clapboard, and the frame and floors are constructed with a wooden structure insulated with wood fiber, providing excellent thermal performance. A wall constructed from reclaimed bricks behind the wood stove adds historical charm. The foundation, built from cellular glass with a wooden frame, offers robust support and superior insulation.
Atri generates its electricity through photovoltaic cells supported by batteries and bio-fuel, ensuring off-grid power and reducing external dependence. Water needs are met by a well, and sewage management is handled by an Eco-Cycle System that recycles waste to nourish fruit and vegetables, creating a sustainable and self-sufficient water and nutrient cycle.
Heating in Atri is managed by a wood stove with a water jacket connected to a tank, complemented by electricity generated from photovoltaic cells. This setup ensures sustainability and independence from external energy sources. Ventilation is achieved through an exhaust and supply air system with heat recovery inside the house, while natural ventilation in the greenhouse is facilitated by roof openings and the glass facade, creating a solar chimney effect.
Gracefully perched on a natural mountain plateau with stunning rock slabs, Atri harmoniously integrates with its environment, inspired by the local topography and majestic pine trees. The thoughtfully designed lighting scheme creates an inviting glow, making Atri a warm, inviting sanctuary. Operating entirely off-grid, it is equipped with self-sustaining systems for heating, electricity, water, and automatic irrigation.
